I will be posting a video/stories on instagram showing my process for taking cuttings to propagate dahlias and I wanted to share a quick list of the supplies I am using this year.
I have also used root riot cubes in the past, both work
I am liking that each little cup/cutting has its own separate water supply
Any will work, these fit my shelves well and the trays are really sturdy
I got some other trays at Target that I also really like for when they are in cups, and the domes happen to fit on them as well.
lots of people swear by it, so I tried it this year after finding it locally. I'm not convinced. I am switching back to Foop to compare.
I've used this the last couple of years and I am switching back to compare to Clonex. It has a nice minty scent and I like that is has nutrients in it, and is organic.
So important to sanitize tools between cuttings. Bleach solution works too.
I have also purchased the bulk powder from other retailers and that works great for creating a solution for your specific container.
Cotton Swabs
for applying clone gel; I prefer to use a new one for each cutting instead of dipping cuttings into a communal container of gel
Paper towels
Clippers/blade
Water
